BI 765179 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Boehringer Ingelheim for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It targets two proteins simultaneously: CD137 (also known as 4-1BB), which is expressed on activated immune cells such as T lymphocytes, natural killer cells, and dendritic cells; and fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which is found on cancer-associated fibroblasts in the tumor stroma. By binding to both CD137 and FAP, BI 765179 aims to attract T lymphocytes to the tumor microenvironment and stimulate them to attack tumor cells. The drug acts as a CD137 agonist (stimulating immune activation) and an FAP modulator. It is administered intravenously[1][3][4][5][7][8].
