Overview

Bi-haemosol is a bicarbonate-based hemodialysis concentrate developed by Duopharma Biotech. It is indicated for the treatment of patients with acute or chronic renal failure, including End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), who require hemodialysis. The product is typically supplied as a two-part system consisting of an acid concentrate (containing electrolytes like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and acetic acid) and a bicarbonate concentrate. During the dialysis process, these components are diluted and mixed to form the dialysate, which facilitates the removal of metabolic waste products (such as urea and creatinine) and the restoration of electrolyte and acid-base balance across a semi-permeable membrane.
