Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Biantong** (also known as Biantong capsule) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) patent drug developed and manufactured by Jianmin Pharmaceutical Group. It is formulated with a blend of six herbal ingredients: *Atractylodes macrocephala* (fried), *Cistanche deserticola*, *Angelica sinensis* (Chinese angelica), mulberry, *Citrus aurantium*, and aloe. Biantong is primarily indicated for the treatment of functional, postoperative, and senile constipation by promoting fecal excretion, enhancing intestinal peristalsis, and improving water absorption in the intestinal cavity. Additionally, it has been evaluated in clinical trials (such as Phase 4 studies) for reducing defecation-related cardiovascular risk and physiological stress in patients hospitalized with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
