Overview

BIBT-1011 (also referred to as BIBT 1011 BS) is an oral small molecule drug developed as a selective inhibitor of factor Xa, a key enzyme in the coagulation cascade. By inhibiting factor Xa, the drug is designed to prevent thrombin generation and blood clot formation, making it potentially useful as an anticoagulant for conditions where thrombosis risk is elevated. The compound was developed by C.H. Boehringer Sohn AG & Co. KG and has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects[1]. There are no approved indications or evidence of further development beyond early-phase studies.
