Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Bicalutamide** is a non-steroidal anti-androgen that inhibits the action of androgens (male hormones) by binding to androgen receptors, primarily used in prostate cancer as hormonal therapy. - **Ipilimumab** is a monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitor targeting cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4), thereby enhancing T-cell activation and proliferation. - **Nivolumab** is a monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2, which results in increased immune response against tumor cells. The combination of ipilimumab and nivolumab has established efficacy in several cancers, especially advanced melanoma, by synergistically activating the immune system to attack cancer cells[1][2][3][4][5][6]. Bicalutamide adds an anti-androgen mechanism that may be relevant for tumors driven by androgen signaling. This triple combination would be considered investigational; there are no standard indications or approvals for this specific three-drug regimen.
