Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bicrome is a commercial brand of functional probiotics developed by NVP Healthcare (Navipharm) that utilizes proprietary "two-strain complexes" of lactic acid bacteria to target specific health indications via the gut-organ axes. The product line includes formulations for nasal health (NVP-1703, containing *Lactobacillus plantarum* IM76 and *Bifidobacterium longum* IM55), liver health (NVP-1702, containing *L. plantarum* LC27 and *B. longum* LC67), and brain health (NVP-1704). These probiotics function by modulating the gut microbiome, which in turn regulates systemic immune responses and inflammatory pathways. For example, the nasal health variant is clinically recognized in South Korea for its ability to improve symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis by balancing Th1/Th2 immune responses and reducing inflammatory cytokines.
