Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bicshiv is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral tablet containing bictegravir, emtricitabine, and tenofovir alafenamide. Developed by Shivnaam Tradelink, it is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection. Bictegravir is an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) that prevents the integration of viral DNA into the host genome. Emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) that inhibit viral replication by causing chain termination during viral DNA synthesis. Together, this three-drug regimen provides a complete, once-daily oral treatment for HIV-1 infection.
