Bifidobacterium adolescentis cell-free supernatant is a research compound made up of metabolites and other substances secreted by the bacterium *Bifidobacterium adolescentis*. Often referred to as a postbiotic, this mixture has been investigated in preclinical settings for its potential therapeutic effects. Research has shown its ability to inhibit the growth of colorectal cancer cells and suppress tumor development in organoid models. The supernatant contains various metabolites, including short-chain fatty acids like butyric acid. Its proposed mechanism of action involves the direct inhibition of cancer cell proliferation and modulation of the intestinal microbiota. It has also been studied for its ability to protect against ileal ulcers induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in animal models. Currently, it is considered a research material and not a commercially developed pharmaceutical product.
