Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07 is a probiotic bacterial strain belonging to the species *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis*. It was originally identified and developed by Danisco (now part of IFF). Bi-07 is a Gram-positive, anaerobic, branched rod-shaped bacterium that is widely used in dietary supplements and functional foods to support digestive health and immune function. Clinical research has focused on its potential to reduce the severity of atopic dermatitis in children and its role in enhancing immune responses to respiratory infections. It is frequently administered in combination with other probiotic strains, most notably *Lactobacillus acidophilus* NCFM, to provide synergistic benefits for gut health and systemic immunity.
