This probiotic combination consists of three specific bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis* DGCC 420 (also known as *B. lactis* 420), *Lactobacillus acidophilus* 74-2, and *Lactobacillus paracasei* Lpc-37. It has been investigated in clinical trials for its ability to modulate the gut microbiota and peripheral immune parameters in both healthy individuals and patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). The mixture acts by transiently colonizing the intestinal tract, reducing the levels of *Clostridium perfringens*, and lowering the genotoxic potential of faecal water, which may provide a protective effect against DNA damage in the colon. In patients with AD, the combination has shown potential in reducing clinical severity (SCORAD) and modulating immune markers, such as decreasing CD4+CD54+ lymphocyte subsets and lowering faecal pH.
