Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bifidobacterium bifidum OLB6378 + Locobase REPAIR is a combination intervention consisting of a specific probiotic strain and a lipid-rich emollient cream. The probiotic component, *Bifidobacterium bifidum* OLB6378, is intended to function as a synbiotic to improve gut mucosal health and immune regulation. The topical component, Locobase REPAIR, is a barrier-repair emollient designed to maintain skin integrity and prevent the percutaneous sensitization that often precedes the development of atopic dermatitis and food allergies. This dual-action approach was evaluated in clinical trials for the prevention of the atopic march in infants, although results indicated that the intervention did not significantly reduce the incidence of these conditions by one year of age.
