Overview

Bifidobacterium bifidum triple viable powder is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) consisting of a combination of three probiotic bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium bifidum*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, and *Enterococcus faecalis*. Registered as a pharmaceutical drug in China, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of intestinal dysbiosis and associated gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, constipation, and enteritis. The formulation works by replenishing beneficial gut flora, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria through the production of organic acids (lactic and acetic acid), and enhancing the intestinal mucosal barrier. In the context of pediatric colonic Crohn's disease, it is being investigated as an adjunctive therapy to infliximab induction to improve mucosal healing and clinical remission rates by modulating the gut microbiome and reducing local inflammatory responses.
