Overview

CCFM1026 is a probiotic bacterial strain, specifically *Bifidobacterium breve* CCFM1026, investigated as a research-stage biological intervention against Influenza A virus (IAV) infection. It is not a conventional pharmaceutical drug but rather a live probiotic microorganism. Its active ingredient is the live bacterial strain *Bifidobacterium breve* CCFM1026, and its antiviral mechanism is attributed to its metabolite butyrate, which modulates immune responses including the TLR7/MyD88/TRAF6/TNF-α signaling pathway, reduces neutrophil proportions, and increases lymphocytes. It has been studied in mouse models of influenza A (H1N1) infection, where it alleviated lung inflammation and restored immune balance. The research originates from Chinese academic and patent literature, specifically associated with Jiangnan University.
