Overview

Bifidobacterium breve CCFM1078 is a specific probiotic strain of the species Bifidobacterium breve, originally isolated from infant feces. It is a live biotherapeutic product with demonstrated effects in preclinical models for modulating gut microbiota, enhancing intestinal barrier function, and regulating immune responses. In animal studies, administration of B. breve CCFM1078 has been shown to repair the intestinal barrier, reduce lipopolysaccharide (LPS) translocation, increase short-chain fatty acid production in the gut, and decrease systemic inflammation by inhibiting TLR4-MyD88-dependent pathways[1][2]. This strain has also been studied for its potential to alleviate joint inflammation in collagen-induced arthritis models[1][2], regulate bone metabolism during growth by influencing the GH/IGF-1 axis and related signaling pathways[6], and inhibit rheumatoid cachexia progression[10]. The primary mechanism involves modulation of gut microbiota composition and metabolites as well as immunomodulation.
