Bifidobacterium breve CECT7263 + Lactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 is a probiotic combination product developed by Biosearch Life (a Kerry Group company). The product consists of two specific bacterial strains originally isolated from human breast milk: Bifidobacterium breve CECT7263 (also known as BfM26) and Limosilactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 (also known as LC40). This combination is designed to modulate the infant gut microbiota and immune system, providing anti-infectious and bactericidal benefits. Clinical evaluations have focused on its efficacy in reducing crying time in infants with colic, preventing and treating diarrhea, and reducing the incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature neonates. It is typically administered orally as a dietary supplement in powder form.
