Overview

bifidobacterium longum CECT7894 + pediococcus pentosaceus CECT8830 is a probiotic combination developed by AB-Biotics (a subsidiary of Kaneka Corporation) specifically for the management of infant colic and functional gastrointestinal disorders. The formulation consists of two specific bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium longum* CECT7894 and *Pediococcus pentosaceus* CECT8830. These strains were selected for their synergistic ability to inhibit the growth of gas-producing proteobacteria, such as *Escherichia coli* and *Klebsiella oxytoca*, which are often elevated in colicky infants. Additionally, the combination exhibits anti-inflammatory properties by inducing the production of interleukin-10 (IL-10) in the gut mucosa. Clinical evidence supports its efficacy in reducing daily crying time and improving gut health in both breastfed and formula-fed infants.
