Overview

Bifidobacterium quadruplex viable tablets, marketed under the brand name Silankang, is a live biotherapeutic product containing four distinct bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium infantis*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Enterococcus faecalis*, and *Bacillus cereus*. It is primarily used to treat intestinal dysbiosis-related conditions such as diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal distension. The formulation works by replenishing beneficial gut flora, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria, and restoring the ecological balance of the intestinal microbiota. In clinical trials, it has been evaluated for the treatment of functional constipation, including specifically in pregnant women, to improve bowel movement frequency and stool consistency without systemic absorption.
