Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bifidobacterium triple viable tablets is a probiotic combination product containing live *Bifidobacterium longum*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, and *Enterococcus faecalis*. It is a live biotherapeutic product primarily used to treat intestinal dysbiosis and associated gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal distension. The formulation works by colonizing the gastrointestinal tract with beneficial bacteria, which helps restore the balance of the intestinal flora, inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria, and supports the intestinal mucosal barrier. In clinical research, it is being evaluated for its potential metabolic benefits, including improving glycemic control, lipid profiles, and systemic inflammation in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity, particularly when used as an adjunct to sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors like dapagliflozin.
