Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bifiform is a probiotic combination product designed to restore and maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiota. It typically contains live cultures of two symbiotic bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium longum* and *Enterococcus faecium*. The mechanism of action involves the direct antagonism of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms within the gastrointestinal tract, alongside the stimulation of local intestinal immunity. By colonizing the gut, these bacteria help normalize the quantitative and qualitative composition of the microflora, which is often disrupted during illness or antibiotic treatment. Bifiform is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of dysbacteriosis, acute diarrhea, and various chronic gastrointestinal disorders. It is available in multiple formulations, including enteric-coated capsules designed to protect the live bacteria from gastric acid, as well as powder sachets and oral solutions tailored for different age groups.
