Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bifrizide is an approved oral fixed-dose combination antihypertensive product developed and marketed by Istituto Lusofarmaco d'Italia for the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension, particularly in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with zofenopril alone. The product contains zofenopril, a small-molecule angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor that suppresses the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduces formation of angiotensin II, together with hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic that promotes renal sodium and chloride excretion. It is supplied as a film-coated tablet, typically dosed once daily, and has been marketed in Italy and other European countries.
