BIIB107 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Biogen for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. It targets integrin alpha4beta1 (specifically, integrin alpha4beta1), which are essential for leukocyte trafficking into the brain—a key process in the pathology of multiple sclerosis. By antagonizing these integrins, BIIB107 disrupts their interaction with ligands and prevents leukocyte migration into the central nervous system, thereby reducing inflammation associated with MS. The drug was administered subcutaneously and intravenously in clinical trials but has been discontinued after Phase 1 development for multiple sclerosis[1][3][4][6][7].
