**BIIB110** is a recombinant protein developed by Biogen (acquired from AliveGen in 2018) that functions as an **ActRIIA/B ligand trap**, blocking myostatin and activin signaling through the activin receptor type-2B (ACVR2B) to promote muscle growth and counteract muscle wasting. It is being investigated primarily for **neuromuscular diseases** such as **muscular atrophy** and **amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)**, with potential expansion to **spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)** and other conditions involving muscle loss like obesity and cardiometabolic disorders. Currently in **Phase 1** clinical development, it has received **Orphan Drug designation** in the United States.
