BIIB144 is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed by Biogen for the potential treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies. It is designed to target the tau protein, a microtubule-associated protein that forms pathological neurofibrillary tangles in the brains of patients with neurodegenerative diseases. By binding to tau, BIIB144 aims to inhibit the cell-to-cell spread of toxic tau species, thereby slowing the progression of cognitive and functional decline.
