Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Obalix Plus is an oral combination syrup marketed by Fawn Incor for the symptomatic relief of cough, common cold, allergic rhinitis, and nasal congestion. It contains three active ingredients: bilastine, a second-generation selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist that alleviates allergy symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose; dextromethorphan, a centrally acting cough suppressant that acts as a sigma-1 receptor agonist and NMDA receptor antagonist to reduce the cough reflex; and phenylephrine, a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a decongestant by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages to relieve congestion.
