Bilastine acts as a selective peripheral H1 receptor antagonist to alleviate allergic symptoms like sneezing and runny nose without causing significant drowsiness. Dextromethorphan is a centrally acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex in the brain to relieve dry, irritating coughs.
