Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BILATIME-M is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet developed by Intra Life, combining the second-generation H1 antihistamine bilastine with the leukotriene receptor antagonist montelukast. Bilastine works by selectively blocking peripheral histamine H1 receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and rhinorrhea. Montelukast targets the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CysLT1), inhibiting the action of leukotrienes that cause bronchoconstriction and allergic inflammation. This dual-action approach provides comprehensive relief for upper and lower respiratory symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. The product is marketed in various strengths, including pediatric formulations (10mg bilastine / 4mg montelukast) and adult formulations (20mg/10mg or 40mg/10mg).
