Overview

BimatoD is an investigational, non-biodegradable intraocular micro-implant developed by EyeD Pharma for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The device is designed for the sustained release of bimatoprost, a synthetic prostamide and structural analog of prostaglandin F2α. Bimatoprost reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the drainage of aqueous humor through both the uveoscleral and trabecular meshwork pathways. By utilizing a long-acting delivery system, BimatoD aims to address the challenge of patient non-compliance associated with daily eye drop regimens and provide stable IOP control over an extended period, potentially lasting several years. The implant is intended to be administered via an intracameral injection.
