Bimoclomol

Bimoclomol is an investigational small molecule drug that acts as a co-inducer of heat shock proteins (HSPs), providing cytoprotective effects in cells under stress. It binds to the transcription factor HSF-1, prolonging its binding to DNA and thereby enhancing the expression of protective heat shock proteins even in the absence of cellular stress. This mechanism leads to increased chaperone activity, which helps protect cells from various forms of injury or disease-related damage.
