Bimoclomol is an investigational small molecule drug that acts as a co-inducer of heat shock proteins (HSPs), providing cytoprotective effects in cells under stress. It binds to the transcription factor HSF-1, prolonging its binding to DNA and thereby enhancing the expression of protective heat shock proteins even in the absence of cellular stress.
