Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Binaprofen is a novel small molecule non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) developed by Dalian Tianyu Pharmaceutical. Specifically developed as binaprofen sodium for intravenous injection, it is classified as a Category 1.1 innovative drug in China. The drug is primarily indicated for the management of moderate to severe postoperative pain. Its mechanism of action involves the non-selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes. By inhibiting these enzymes, binaprofen blocks the conversion of arachidonic acid into pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, thereby exerting analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It has progressed through Phase 3 clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy and safety in surgical settings.
