Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Binghou Keke is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) based hard candy or lozenge, also known as "Binghou 30 Fen Zhong Keke Tang". It is formulated with a blend of herbal ingredients including licorice (甘草), bitter almond (苦杏仁), radish seed (莱菔子), platycodon root (桔梗), malva nut (胖大海), and honeysuckle (金银花). This combination is traditionally used for its properties to clear heat, detoxify, moisten the lungs, relieve cough and asthma, eliminate phlegm, aid digestion, benefit the throat, and promote bowel movement. It is primarily indicated for alleviating symptoms associated with sore throat, cough, and phlegm, and can also help with bad breath. Some formulations are sugar-free, utilizing sweeteners like isomaltooligosaccharide or maltitol, while others contain white sugar and glucose syrup. In China, it is classified as a non-prescription drug in some contexts, while other formulations may be considered ordinary food products.
