BIO-109

BIO-109 refers to two distinct investigational oncology drugs from different developers. The first, developed by BiOneCure Therapeutics, is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that acts as a tubulin inhibitor and is in the discovery phase for the treatment of solid tumors. Its mechanism involves targeting tubulin to disrupt microtubule function, thereby inhibiting cancer cell division[1]. The second, developed by Evolve Oncology Inc, is a small molecule ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) inhibitor that reached phase 2 clinical trials for neoplasms but has since been discontinued. This version of BIO-109 inhibits RNRs to block DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing tumor cells[2].
