Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BIO-10901 is a peptide-based therapeutic developed by BioMarck Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Acute Lung Injury (ALI). It is part of a platform of patent-protected peptides designed to inhibit the Myristoylated Alanine-Rich C-Kinase Substrate (MARCKS) protein. MARCKS is a critical component of the inflammatory process, particularly in the lungs, where it regulates neutrophil aggregation, migration, and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. By targeting MARCKS, BIO-10901 aims to modulate the excessive inflammatory response and reduce the pulmonary damage associated with ALI. While BioMarck's lead compound (BIO-11006) is focused on COPD, BIO-10901 is specifically positioned for acute pulmonary inflammatory conditions.
