Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bio-C Temp is a bioceramic, calcium silicate-based intracanal medicament designed for temporary use during endodontic treatment. It is primarily utilized as a dressing between appointments to disinfect the root canal system in cases of necrotic pulp or apical periodontitis. Unlike traditional calcium hydroxide pastes, Bio-C Temp features a bioceramic formulation that provides high radiopacity, biocompatibility, and a sustained release of calcium and hydroxyl ions. This ionic release maintains an alkaline pH, which exhibits antimicrobial activity and promotes the release of endogenous growth factors from the dentin, such as TGF-β1, potentially facilitating periapical healing and regenerative processes. It is supplied in a ready-to-use syringe and is known for its high filling capacity and low volumetric loss compared to conventional dressings.
