Overview

Bio Cel is a topical botanical lipid-based occlusive developed by Venus Concept for use as a post-treatment adjuvant following aesthetic skin procedures. It is specifically formulated to be applied after treatments that compromise the skin barrier, such as fractional radiofrequency ablation (e.g., Venus Viva). Bio Cel functions as a physical skin protectant, creating a barrier that prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and shields the healing tissue from environmental irritants. In clinical settings, it is often evaluated as part of a combination regimen with a growth factor-rich serum (such as the SCR Complex) to improve patient tolerability, reduce downtime, and facilitate the natural repair process of the skin following resurfacing procedures.
