Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bio-Three Hi Tablet is an over-the-counter (OTC) probiotic combination product developed by Alinamin Pharmaceutical and originated by Toa Pharmaceutical. It is formulated as a designated quasi-drug in Japan to regulate the intestinal environment and alleviate symptoms such as constipation, loose stools, diarrhea, and abdominal bloating. The tablet contains a symbiotic combination of three active bacterial strains: butyric acid bacteria (*Clostridium butyricum* TO-A), lactic acid bacteria (*Enterococcus faecium* T-110), and saccharifying bacteria (*Bacillus subtilis* TO-A). These three strains function symbiotically across different regions of the gastrointestinal tract—from the small intestine to the large intestine—to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, produce essential metabolites like butyrate and lactic acid, and support the barrier function of the large intestine.
