Overview

BIO017 is a plant-derived, water-soluble cannabidiol (CBD) formulation developed by Biom Therapeutics as a small molecule agonist of the TRPV1 channel. It is specifically designed to treat neurodevelopmental and epileptic disorders, including Angelman Syndrome and Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies (DEE), by modulating TRPV1-mediated neuronal activity. The drug utilizes a patent-pending nano-dispersion technology to enhance solubility and is formulated as a sugar-free, child-friendly oral treatment. BIO017 has received Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA for Angelman Syndrome and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in the SATURN trial, with plans to progress to Phase 3.
