Overview

BioAMB is a novel peptide-based formulation of amphotericin B, developed to address the significant toxicity and administration challenges associated with traditional amphotericin B therapies. Amphotericin B is a potent antifungal agent used primarily for severe, life-threatening fungal infections but is limited by its nephrotoxicity and complex administration requirements. BioAMB leverages advanced ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity) property programming technology to improve safety—demonstrated by reduced toxicity in preclinical models—and simplify dosing regimens. The drug aims to provide an effective first-line therapy option for serious fungal infections such as chronic pulmonary aspergillosis and invasive aspergillosis. It remains in preclinical development with ongoing studies evaluating its pharmacodynamics and safety profile[1][3][4][6][9].
