Overview
BioCalci D is a marketed dietary supplement formulated as a combination of probiotics, calcium, and vitamin D3. Developed by Takgene Pharma, each capsule contains 1.5 billion CFU of *Lactobacillus acidophilus* and *Bifidobacterium lactis*, alongside calcium citrate and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). The supplement is designed to support bone and dental health, improve gastrointestinal function, and boost the immune system. The probiotic strains help maintain a healthy gut microbiota, enhance mineral absorption, and produce short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, which stimulate osteoblast activity and bone formation. Calcium citrate provides a highly bioavailable source of calcium with fewer gastrointestinal side effects compared to calcium carbonate, while vitamin D3 facilitates calcium absorption in the intestines. BioCalci D is marketed for children, adolescents, the elderly, postmenopausal women, and individuals with dietary restrictions.
