Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biocan Novel is a veterinary combination vaccine for dogs designed to provide active immunization against several major canine infectious diseases. The vaccine contains live attenuated viruses for canine distemper (CDV), canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), canine parvovirus type 2b (CPV-2b), and canine parainfluenza virus (CPiV). Some formulations also include inactivated components for four Leptospira serovars—Leptospira interrogans serogroups Icterohaemorrhagiae and Canicola, Leptospira kirschneri serogroup Grippotyphosa, and Leptospira interrogans serogroup Australis—as well as inactivated rabies virus. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously and is indicated to prevent mortality and clinical signs associated with these pathogens. It provides three-year immunity against core viral components (distemper, hepatitis/adenovirus, parvovirus) and annual revaccination is recommended for the leptospirosis and parainfluenza components[1][3][7][9]. Developed by Bioveta, a.s., the product is distributed internationally through partners such as Vetina Healthcare LLP in India[8] and Interpharma Group subsidiaries in Thailand[10].
