Overview

BioChaperone GLP-1 AMYLIN refers to a class of investigational, stable co-formulations that combine a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1) agonist (such as semaglutide) with an amylin analog (such as cagrilintide), developed using Adocia’s proprietary BioChaperone platform. These combinations are designed for the treatment of obesity and diabetes, leveraging the complementary mechanisms of action of both hormone classes to achieve superior weight loss and glycemic control compared to monotherapy. The GLP-1 component acts primarily by enhancing insulin secretion in response to meals, inhibiting glucagon release, delaying gastric emptying, and promoting satiety. The amylin analog further slows gastric emptying and increases feelings of fullness, targeting fat mass while preserving muscle mass. Adocia has filed patents for these stable formulations—addressing previous challenges in co-formulating these peptides—and aims for administration via standard subcutaneous injection devices[2][7][8].
