Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BioCurc is a patented, highly bioavailable formulation of curcumin—the primary bioactive compound in turmeric (Curcuma longa rhizome extract). It is designed to provide significantly superior oral absorption and pharmacokinetics compared to standard curcumin. BioCurc contains curcumin (6.17% w/w) and a proprietary lipid-based delivery system comprising vitamin E, Labrasol, ethanol, Gelucire 44/14, anhydrous citric acid, PEG 400, and hydroxypropyl cellulose[3]. Curcumin functions as a pleiotropic modulator of inflammatory and oxidative molecular pathways, acting as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune modulator, and potentially neuroprotective agent[3][4][5]. BioCurc has been shown in human pharmacokinetic studies to increase the absorption of free curcumin[3]. Its primary indications as a dietary supplement include support for joint health, immune function, antioxidant defense, cognitive and mood health, digestion, and exercise recovery[1][5].
