Overview

BioDFence G3 Placental Tissue Membrane is a dehydrated, multilayer human amnion and chorion allograft (dHACM) derived from human placental tissue. Developed and distributed by Integra LifeSciences, it is designed to serve as a resorbable surgical barrier and wrap that preserves tissue planes and reduces the formation of scar tissue. The membrane acts as a bioactive scaffold that supports the natural healing cascade and prevents fibroblast infiltration between adjacent tissues. It is primarily investigated for use during robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, where it is wrapped around neurovascular bundles to promote the early recovery of erectile function and urinary continence. As a human tissue-based product, it is regulated by the FDA under the HCT/P (Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products) framework.
