**Bioftal** is a marketed Lafedar ophthalmic fixed-dose combination containing chloramphenicol, neomycin sulfate, and phenylephrine hydrochloride. Chloramphenicol and neomycin provide topical antibacterial activity through inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis, while phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist that produces local vasoconstriction and can reduce ocular redness. Lafedar lists the product as an ophthalmic solution containing chloramphenicol 0.5 g, neomycin sulfate 0.5 g, and phenylephrine hydrochloride 0.125 g per 100 mL.
