Bioket Plus

Bioket Plus is an ophthalmic combination drug developed and marketed by Jainson Biotech. It contains ofloxacin (0.3% w/v), a second-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and ketorolac tromethamine (0.5% w/v), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ofloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Ketorolac acts by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. This topical solution is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis, ocular inflammation, and the management of pain and swelling following ophthalmic surgeries such as cataract extraction. It is also used to relieve ocular itching associated with seasonal allergies.
