Biokiller

Biokiller is an oral biological antimicrobial gel containing antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) developed for the treatment of periodontitis. It is primarily used as an adjunct to non-surgical periodontal therapy, such as scaling and root planing (SRP), particularly in patients with Stage III and Grade B periodontitis. The gel is applied locally into the periodontal pocket where the antimicrobial peptides target and disrupt bacterial biofilms and cell membranes. This approach aims to provide a targeted antimicrobial effect while avoiding the common side effects of broad-spectrum antibiotics, such as the development of drug resistance, tooth staining, and the depletion of beneficial oral probiotics. The product was evaluated in clinical trials led by the Beijing Stomatological Hospital, Capital Medical University.
