Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biolen CP-001 is an investigational localized therapy developed by RegCell for the treatment of prostate cancer, specifically in the pre-prostatectomy setting. The treatment utilizes a biodegradable seed implant (Biolen) to provide sustained release of an androgen receptor (AR) antagonist directly into the prostate tissue. By targeting the androgen receptor, which is the primary driver of prostate cancer growth, Biolen CP-001 aims to achieve high local drug concentrations to reduce tumor size and improve surgical outcomes. This localized approach is intended to offer the efficacy of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) while avoiding the systemic toxicities associated with oral AR antagonists. The program is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
