Overview

BioLink1052 is a recombinant fusion protein designed as a dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) pathway. Developed by Protheragen, this therapeutic candidate aims to leverage the synergistic effects of GLP-1 and FGF21 to improve glycemic control, promote weight loss, and enhance lipid metabolism in patients with metabolic diseases. GLP-1 receptor activation stimulates insulin secretion and suppresses appetite, while FGF21 signaling improves insulin sensitivity and energy expenditure. BioLink1052 is currently in Phase I clinical development for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.
