Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BioLink2018 is a small molecule inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) being developed by Protheragen for the treatment of B-cell lymphomas. BTK is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in the B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway, which is vital for the development, activation, and survival of B lymphocytes. In many B-cell malignancies, this pathway is constitutively active, driving tumor growth and survival. BioLink2018 is designed to block BTK activity, thereby inhibiting downstream signaling and inducing cell cycle arrest or apoptosis in malignant B cells. The compound is currently in Phase I clinical development.
