Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BioLink2024 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the **NLRP3** (NOD-like receptor protein 3) inflammasome, developed by **Protheragen**. The NLRP3 inflammasome is a multi-protein complex that plays a central role in the innate immune response by triggering the maturation and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, specifically interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18). Dysregulation and overactivation of the NLRP3 pathway are implicated in the pathogenesis of numerous inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including gout, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. BioLink2024 is designed to selectively block NLRP3 activation, thereby reducing chronic inflammation. The project is currently listed as an available asset for licensing or collaborative development within Protheragen's pipeline.
