Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Biolipid B2** is a proprietary, alcohol-free transdermal nanoemulsion vehicle used to formulate nanoparticulated testosterone for systemic hormone delivery through the skin. In the testosterone-loaded clinical formulation, it is applied by metered-dose pump to the forearm and delivers testosterone over approximately 24 hours while avoiding gastrointestinal absorption and first-pass hepatic metabolism. Testosterone acts primarily as an agonist of the androgen receptor and has been studied with this vehicle for low libido or hypoactive sexual desire disorder in peri- and postmenopausal women and for testosterone deficiency in middle-aged men. Published reports identify Biolipid B2 as an oleic acid- and phospholipid-containing penetration-enhancing vehicle manufactured by Evidence Pharmaceuticals.
