Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biomodulina T is a thymic polypeptide fraction with immunomodulatory properties, while CIMAvax-EGF is an epidermal growth factor (EGF)-depleting immunotherapy vaccine. The combination involves sequential administration of Biomodulina T followed by CIMAvax-EGF. This approach aims to restore immune function after chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and enhance the immune response to the EGF-targeting vaccine. The mechanism of action for this combination includes immunorestoration by Biomodulina T, which may decrease exhausted and terminally differentiated EMRA T cells, followed by induction of anti-EGF antibodies via CIMAvax-EGF vaccination. These antibodies reduce circulating EGF levels, thereby depriving cancer cells of a key growth signal[1][9][6].
